What is Morphfolia?

Morphfolia is two things:

It provides a suite of tools and capabilities that make website development and management flexible.  It's open source - you can download it now, for free from morphfolia.codeplex.com.

This is achieved by a mature architecture and good design principles; the pages, content, page-layout and look-&-feel are all separated.

Content is served by HTTP Handlers, and APIs exist to support "standard" ASP.NET WebForm development so that your custom forms are consistent with the other content.

It provides (amongst other things) a built-in search engine with content indexes, auto-generating site map, content indexes, real-time web traffic monitoring, centralized system and audit logging.

Conceptual Art Work

On the side, I've been doing some sketching, exploring the system from another angle - a visual one.  There's no 'image' for the web or a website beyond an un-inspiring globe icon, there's no instantly recognisable symbol of a component except a square on a whiteboard or on a UML component diagram.

I was going through some of the Star Wars cut-away books we have at home, which the boys are always pouring over (myself included).  Ding! Light-bulb moment!  Who says geeks can have some fun visually?  Here's a couple - for more (which I'd like to expand and improve on) see: http://cid-97423eb2afc7174a.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/.Public/Morphfolia%20-%20Rich%20Pictures
