Cross-Browser Support
The main purpose of this information (for now) is to discuss cross-browser support in 'admin' areas of Morphfolia. Public visible pages are largely cross-browser compatible (more specific info to come soon), this includes the search box (with AJAX powered results preview); due to the flexibility of the page-layout and skin capabilities you have a large degree of control over cross-browser compatibility.
Morphfolia was largely developed on an XP Professional machine with IE6 (and Firefox), and more recently with IE7. Limited testing has been conducted with virtualised instances of IE7, IE8, Safari and Google Chrome - to which I am indebted to http://www.xenocode.com.
There are known issues in the admin section for browsers other that IE, these will be ironed out shortly, however in the meantime your mileage may vary (Firefox seems to be the least forgiving, Chrome is better than I expected - and that's in dealing with my IE centric code - not because of Firefox or Chrome). The most noteable issues are the inability to edit content using the WYSIWYG and assign content items to pages. The chart below shows progress to-date of formal cross-browser testing (and fixing as I go); This focuses on administration and content editing functionality. |
