Adding and Editing Content

Content is not added directly to a page - it is kept seperate to enable reuse and clean design.

Content editing is done through a basic What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) editor, which allows you to perform basic text formatting, insert images, links to documents, images and URLs.

As the web project is ‘open’, developers can replace the existing editor with a more powerful one of their choosing.

In addition to authoring ‘normal’ unstructured content, the content editing capabilities include authoring structured content.  Developers can define very simple XML files (following a simple schema) which appear as a form for the user to fill in (instead of the normal editor).

See Form Templates for more information (information to come).

The WYSIWYG editor integrates with the Image and File Managers, which allow editors to easily insert images and documents.

The content editor page also provides a summary of the pages in which the content is being used.
